IT Business Analyst
Seasoned Business Analyst responsible for providing strong business acumen and industry best practices knowledge for our strategic and tactical projects through all SDLC phases from project initiation to implementation in financial services organization. These projects will help improve our enterprise customer servicing applications and interfaces across Customer Systems & Technologies. Essential Responsibilities Work closely with Project Managers and provide support for strategic and tactical projects to improve our applications Custodian of Business Requirements and Functional Design documents for individual Use Cases In depth understanding of different business workflows in Customer Services, Collections and Fraud. Collaborate and Guide project team through Business Requirements analysis and ensure the projects are successfully completed on time. Engage and/or lead initiatives around Governance and Metrics, Regulatory readiness, Compliance issues and Financial management. Contribute to System Development Lifecycle initiatives including expansion of Agile, PMO improvements etc. Provide support to Estimations team with “as-is” and “to-be” business workflows. Provide in depth business workflows understanding and resolve inter application group and/or cross functions issues. Take up a proactive approach to identify gaps in BR and FD documentation and ensure to keep the documents accessible. Remain up-to-date with organizational, business, and department goals/initiatives as well as upcoming market trends in IT. Plan and communicate with business, IT Leadership, and other key stakeholders regarding status, milestones, issues, prioritizing, escalations and issue resolution. Develops peer, cross functional, cross business and external relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s/College Degree in Computer Science/IT or Engineering with 5 + years of IT experience. Minimum 2-3 years of Business analyst experience Experienced BA for large projects in financial services organization Good understanding of SDLC, UML processes including Agile and Waterfall Preferable: 2-4 years of working experience in using and integrating various technologies – Java, Web Services, Middleware, Database(Oracle) etc. For internal candidates : 18 months in SYF and 12 months in current role Should not be on active formal or final formal corrective or PIP Desired Characteristics 2+ years of financial services experience (Credit cards domain preferably) Good business understanding of business workflows and processes of Contact Center Proven team player experience Should have ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and Develop Business case Should have good understanding of Modeling techniques and methods Excellent facilitation/business understanding, and demonstrated ability to interact with cross functional/cross cultural teams Experience with Business writing tools Strong communication skills Self starter Non-exempts applying for this role would be considered at Level-08 only.
